Jose Mourinho is staying calm amidst the euphoria following Real Madrid's qualification to the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in seven years and believes that it is expected for a big club like themselves to make it through.
'The Special One' also hopes he will avoid lining up against his former teams Inter and Chelsea in the next round of the competition.
Los Blancos defeated their French nemesis Olympique Lyonnais 3-0 in the second leg of their round of 16 clash at the Bernabeu on Wednesday evening to progress to the last eight 4-1 on aggregate.
Madrid finally broke their 'last 16 curse' to qualify for the quarter-finals and it is also their first win over Lyon in eight attempts, but Mourinho is not letting this get to his head.
"We are Real Madrid, it is normal for us to qualify for the quarter-finals," said the Portuguese tactician after the match to the press.
"This was a victory against a very good team, I think we deserved it after a complete performance, we played to win and deserved it."
Looking ahead to the draw on Friday, the 48-year-old said: "I don't have any preferences regarding our next opponent, but I would like to avoid facing Inter or Chelsea because it is emotionally difficult to face your own people.
"If it must be, then it must be. We are professionals, but I wouldn't like that."
