Ghana is protesting against the loss of Commonwealth bronze medalist, Awosoni Yekini to a Cameroonian opponent.
A formal complaint has been lodged with the technical committee of the boxing segment of the 9th All Africa Games.
Yekini was declared a 20-21 loser at the end of four rounds of action in the 91kg class.
General Secretary of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Association, R.O. Lamptey Jnr. described the verdict as 'ridiculous' and immediately raised two hundred dollars to pay the protest fee.
The bout itself was boring as the Cameroonian, who ran into an early lead resorted to unorthodox styles by holding both hands of Yekini thereby preventing the Ghanaian from throwing punches.
The referee who should have restored some boxing decorum in the ring looked on as the seconds glided away until the bell sounded for the end.
The misfortune of Ghana continued as Fred Lawson was comprehensively beaten in the 57kg category by a game Guinean opponent.
With these set backs, Manyo Plange, 48kg and Moses Dormenyo, 64kg remain the only Ghanaian boxers who have qualified for the next round.
