Ghana winger Quincy Owusu Abeyie has admitted his frustrations for being overlooked for international competitive football in the past six months.
Abeyie, who quit Spanish side Malaga under controversial circumstances via the social networking site Twitter on May 20, has not played for the Black Stars since the international friendly against Saudi Arabia in November last year.
The ex-Arsenal and Celta Vigo player featured in last week’s Michael Essien AU Peace charity match at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra.
But he was left out of the team picked by Goran Stevanonic to play Congo in a Nations cup qualifier and an international friendly against South Korea this month.
The 26-year-old who claims he is frustrated watching the side from the outside is bidding for his time.
“Yes of course I want to be in the Black Stars again and sometimes it get to me when I watch my colleagues play without me,” Abeyie said.
“It is very frustrating because when I made the decision to play for Ghana, it was big one for me and so for you to see the turn of event, clearly the situation is not the best.
“I had a choice and I chose my motherland and it will be refreshing to be back in the team in the not too distant future.”
The former Ajax promising starlet has enjoyed spells with Sparta Moscow, Cardiff, Portsmouth and Al Sadd.
