Jonathan Mensah plays first game for new club Columbus Crew in a pre season friendly
Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah made his Columbus Crew debut on Wednesday in their 1-1 draw with Charleston Battery at MUSC Health Stadium in Charleston, S.C. in a pre season friendly.
Mensah who joined the MLS side from Russian side Anzhi during the January window was one of seven players that made their debut.
Charleston's Forrest Lasso opened with a 25th minute headed corner kick before Crew SC second-half substitute Nicolai Naess' well-placed free kick led to an own goal.
Jonathan Mensah's national teammate Harrison Afful wore the captain's armband for the first 45 minutes.
