Swedish trainer Tom Strand has described his exit from Medeama as unprofessional but insists he had to leave at the time because it was very necessary.
According to Strand he had to leave for his native country without informing the club’s top hierarchy because ‘’it was a matter of life and death’’
Tom Strand unceremoniously abandoned the team in South Africa after their CAF Confederation Cup playoff 3-1 defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns last year.
But he is back in the country and has been following his former team with hope of staging a return. Strand has been to all the four games Medeama has played this season.
‘’It was unprofessional and I am really not satisfied with how i left the team is not the way to do when you are a commander of a team is not the way you leave an army…. For me personally that is the reason i came back to redeem myself for this action that i did’’
‘’The departure was necessary because it was a critical situation, a matter of life and death so had to go home’’ Strand told Joy Sports
Strand won the 2013 MTN FA Cup with Medeama.
