A former Nkoranza Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress has called on the leadership of the party to resolve their internal squabbles for unity and the development of the party.
Mr Philip Kwabena Kyeremeh stressed that there was the urgent need to resolve the misunderstanding between former President Jerry John Rawlings and President John Evans Atta Mills to salvage the party.
The NDC activist, who made the call at a meeting with party supporters at Kranka, said “It is very unfortunate that such things, which can disorganise the party leadership is happening”, and called for resolution of the differences.
Mr. Kyeremeh reminded the NDC leadership that victory for the party in Election 2012 would depend largely on unity.
He appealed to ex-President Rawlings to consider views of party supporters calling for peace, and support activities of the party for victory.
Mr. Kyeremeh appealed to NDC supporters to eschew selfishness and unite for the progress of the party.
He also asked them not to allow the party’s impending congress to select a flag bearer dampen their spirit but they should remain focused and work hard towards victory.
“The defeat of NDC in 2012 will be a great disappointment to members of the party”, he stated.
