Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Saanie Daara has rejected claims they have made contact with 2017 Africa cup of Nations winning coach Hugo Broos to become next Black Stars job.
The Black Stars are search of Avram Grant’s successor after the Israeli trainer failed to convince the management committee to extend his contract as a result of failed attempt at winning the 2017 AFCON.
A Six-member committee have been set up to search for the new Black Stars coach using two prong approach - headhunting and applications from interested coaches. But reports have emerged that Hugo Broos is close to landing the top job after holding fruitful discussions with the GFA.
But Daara claims the reports are false and should not be taken serious.
“It is never true that the FA has contacted Higo Broos. I can say with all certainty that no such decision has been taken,” Sannie told GHANAsoccernet.com
“I think some people are just trying to put up their agenda and are trying to draw the GFA in. Broos has not been approached and it must be treated as such,” he added.
“We named a six-member committee just on Tuesday and they are even yet to commence their work so where from this?
“We have heard the names of a lot of coaches who are reported to be close to the job yet they have not grabbed it. So let’s treat all these are rumours,” he noted.
Ghana is expected to appoint a new Coach to replace Avram Grant before the 2019 AFCON qualifier with Ethiopia in June this year.
