Former Black Stars player, C.K. Akunnor has urged the Ghana Football Association to appoint Marcel Desailly as Black Stars head coach.
Avram Grant and the FA have parted ways mutually after he failed to win the just Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
The management committee of the team on Tuesday formed a six member committee to work on getting a competent coach to lead the Black Stars.
And the Dreams FC manager believes with Desailly’s experience in the game, he can handle the tea.
“Marcel Desailly should be considered for the Stars job. I see Desailly as one with the experience to do the job if given the chance," he told Asempa Sports.
"In Germany, former players like Rudi Voeller, Jürgen Klinsmann, etc. were given the chance to and they proved they could do the job”, he said.
Akunnor is sure of Desailly’s success if hired by the football association.
But, many football fans argue that Desailly has no coaching experience and so the fact that, he achieved more in his playing days doesn’t mean he can be successful with the Black Stars.
