The Council of Chiefs from Agotime-Kpetoe in the Volta Region has assured the regional minister, Dr Achibald Letsa of their continuous support and collaboration under his administration.
The chiefs gave the assurance when they paid a courtesy call on the Volta Regional Minister to thank him for his presence and the role he played during the sod cutting ceremony for commencement of the construction of Kente village at Agotime-Kpetoe.
The Chiefs took turns to condemn the attitude of some persons they claim have been trying to scuttle the project even before it gets started.
They further requested the support of the Minister to help resolve the lingering land litigation between the people of Agotime and the Ando which was bringing development to a standstill in the District.
The chiefs also called for the setting up of a District hospital since the population within the District is increasing.
Dr Archibald Letsa, in his response assured the chiefs that his doors are always opened and will ensure that the project gets to its successful completion due to the economic benefits of Kente to the Region and the country.
Plans are further underway for a tomato factory to be set up in the Agotime-Ziope District, he opined.
The minister has also promised government commitment to making sure that promises made by the president to the people of the Volta region are fulfilled.
He also asked for the support of all to make the Nana Addo led administration succeed.
