Former Asante Kotoko coach, Karim Zito says he will be the happiest person if the Ghana Football Association reassigned Kwesi Appiah to take charge of the Black Stars.
The FA are in search for the coach to replace Avram Grant after the Israeli mutually parted ways with Ghana.
Several media reports have reported that the former coach has applied for the Black Stars job after the FA fired him a few months after the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
And Karim Zito is fully backing Appiah to make a return to the job.
“I will be the happiest person. I think it is time we give our local coaches more chance to lead us,” he told Asempa Sports.
“When we go into the history we have in our football, the four trophies that we have won were won by local coaches and after thirty five years we have tried to win the Africa Cup of Nations with expatriates coaches but they have failed us so why don’t we go back to our root and support that coach?”
“I believe when we give that local coach time I believe we can win the trophy.”
