Marcel Desailly has urged present day Ghanaian footballers to make investment a key priority the money rains in, in their active years.
The 1998 World Cup winner officially launched his multipurpose sports complex in Accra and hopes he has provided an example worth following for the present generation of Ghanaian footballers.
"I had a good career; I have stopped but hope I will be an example. You cannot force people to invest but I have set an example. My advice to the players is don’t invest in buildings and things like this when you are playing because you won’t have time to supervise."
Desailly's advice is timely, especially at a time when there is growing concern that many of the country's footballers are draining their money the wrong way.
