The Director of Communications at the Presidency, Koku Anyidoho has lashed out at the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), on its latest song which mocks President J.E.A Mills.
According to him, the opposition party led by its flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, embarked on a tour full of orchestra rather than outlining policies as a party eager to come to power.
“Ghanaians will look for the person they can trust with the destiny of the nation especially the oil wealth and decide in which direction to move. Those who want to sing let them continue to sing, at the end of the day Ghanaians will decide whether to go for a song and a dance or to go for a president who is prepared comprehensively to build a better Ghana”, he added.
Nana Akufo-Addo (The 2012 NPP presidential Candidate), after the party's conference in Germany made a stopover in London where he paid surprise visits to Ghanaian-owned businesses in Brixton to interact with proprietors and customers.
He was accompanied by some party executives including Miss Ursula Owusu.
The parliamentary candidate of the NPP for Okaikoi South, Ursula Owusu while addressing party members in the United Kingdom as part of the flag bearer's tour led members in a song that sought to describe President Mills as having failed to fulfil his promise of building a better Ghana for Ghanaians.
The song which is in Akan, outlined major projects like the National Health Insurance and the National Youth Employment Project initiated by the NPP which according to composers of the song, is being left to collapse by the Mills-led administration.
But Koku Anyidoho on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday, urged the NPP to come out with policy guidelines on what they intend to do when voted into power by Ghanaians rather than criticizing the president.
He said the National Youth Employment Programme and the School Feeding Programme which the NPP said has collapsed is only being re-engineered to have a comprehensive outlook.
Koku Anyidoho noted that the Mills administration is unperturbed about the trivialities but focused on fulfilling his promise to Ghanaians.
Outlining major achievements chalked by the Mills administration in just two years, the presidential aide stressed that, President Mills is not a messiah, and added that they are committed to the Better Ghana Agenda.
