Former Kotoko Chief Executive, Herbert Mensah, has distanced himself from the Managing Director role at Hearts of Oak after reports indicated he was favorite to land the job.
The role became vacant after Vincent Odotei Sowah relinquished his position to concentrate on both ministerial and parliamentarian duties.
Herbert Mensah was rumored to continue from where Mr Odotei Sowah left off but the football administrator has categorically denied those claims.
"The world of football is fantastic, full of action and stories and rumours as well," he said
"I received a call that I am making a return to football in a big way- that I am joining Hearts of Oak but I told the person that I am not.
"Definitely I am not joining Hearts, I think Hearts is a great club and that they have a future which the owner will determine which way to go."
Herbert Mensah is currently the President of the Ghana Rugby Association and has pledged his support to the new GOC President, Ben Nunoo Mensah.
