Former Ghana Football Association president Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe is surprised Kwasi Appiah is highly fancied to become head coach of the Black Stars again following the departure of Avram Grant.
The search for a new trainer for the senior national team has intensified with the number reportedly whittled down to three or four after over 100 hundred coaches applied for the job.
Apparently, the GFA is under pressure from the public to appoint the Sudan-based coach for the second time in five years as they believe Appiah is the right man to improve the fortunes of the country in 2018 World cup qualifiers.
However, for the outspoken administrator, Nyaho Tamakloe, he doubts if Appiah has the credentials to handle the team and has warned the FA against his re-appointment.
''Appiah was a complete failure when he took over the Black Stars and he was sacked for non-performance so what has changed that he wants to come back''?,'' the astute administrator told the Graphic Sports.
''He lacked the ability to read through games and design proper strategies to counter his opponents during matches.
''Appiah was unable to control his players to the extent that they disregarded his instructions with impunity.''
‘’I am shocked he(Appiah) applied for the job’’
Appiah now handles Sudanese top-flight side Al Khartoum SC and was voted as the best coach in the country last year.
