Ex-Ghana international Felix Aboagye has advised striker Asamoah Gyan to ditch music and concentrate fully on his football career. The Sunderland hitman’s popularity rose outside the pitch last year after he released a hit single ‘African Girls’ with Ghana’s rap star Castro.Gyan latest release ‘Do the Dance’ with Castro, released last month, is topping the African charts once again. He has performed alongside his boyhood friend at major international events including a concert at the famous O2 in London. His latest performances at the first ever “Ghana meet Naija” concert and the 36th edition of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana Awards have also raised his profile in the music industry.Aboagye, an ex-Zamalek and Al Ahly striker, wants Gyan to quit the music career and channel efforts into football.“It’s important for him to understand that if he wants to get to the top he must stop the music and concentrate on the game,” Aboagye said.“He may get confused at a point as to what he really wants to do and may not reach the height we expect of him. He should choose the game because the music thing can distract him.“I have told him in the past because I think he has the potential to get to the top and play for a top team like Real Madrid and others but he must choose between the music and the game.”Aboagye, who is now an assistant coach at Liberty Professionals, was a key mentor for Gyan when he played at the club’s junior side.Source: www.mtnfootball.com
