Twenty-six students of the Buoho Vocational Institute in Kumasi are contesting results of the National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI) examination they of December 2010.
They are questioning a mix-up in their index numbers and examination centre on their slips which are different from the original information for their registration.
The NVTI conducts trade tests nationwide for both formal and informal trainees in over 80 vocational and technical areas. They include Building, Automotive, Electrical, Craft, masonry, Dressmaking and Tailoring.
The agitated trainees marched to Luv FM studios Tuesday to register their misgivings about what they believe are anomalies in the conduct and grading of the examination.
Majority of them recorded poor grades which they argue are not a true reflection of their performance.
Luv News enquiries indicate that candidates in other parts of the country have suffered similar problems, but the students are disputing the claims by officials.
They want the Testing Department to come clear on the issue.
Officials at the department in the Ashanti Region attribute the anomaly to challenges in deploying internet technology for the registration of candidates.
They however say candidates have the option to call for remarking of their scripts if they feel the results are unfair.
