Sierra Leonean international Rodney Strasser has joined Serie A outfit Lecce on a one-year loan from Italian champions AC Milan.
The midfielder, 21, told BBC Sport that his loan move came just after signing a two-year contract extension with Milan.
"I'm excited about the move because I hope to have a regular playing time at Lecce," said Strasser.
"I know that after the loan spell, my chances of playing regulary at Milan will increase."
Strasser was part of the Milan team that won the Italian Serie A league last season, even though he only featured in a handful of matches.
He also played two matches for the rossoneri in last season's Uefa Champions League, coming off the bench on both occassions.
The former Kallon FC player was enrolled in to the AC Milan youth team in 2007 and later graduated to the senior team.
Strasser has made four appearances for Sierra Leone's senior national team - Leone Stars.
