Ghana forward Jordan Ayew grabbed a brace for Olympique Marseille in their 8-2 win over Manchester United on Tuesday night in a charity match.
The 19-year-old scored his first just after the half hour mark and added the second on the hour mark in a match played in honour of former Marseille goalkeeper Pascal Olmeta.
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson took seven first team players to the Stade Louis II in Monaco.
Ji-sung Park, Patrice Evra, Paul Pogba, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley all travelled to France to play their part.
With Eric Cantona unable to make it, there was a surprise on the Manchester United bench in former Newcastle and Spurs winger David Ginola.
Prince Albert of Monaco kicked off the friendly, playing some keepy-uppy with Manchester United youngster Tom Cleverley.
Marseille took the lead on 15 minutes, Nicolas N’Koulou cracking home a fine goal from outside the box leaving former Manchester United keeper Fabien Barthez with no chance.
Just after the half hour Jordan Ayew made it 2-0 to Marseille.
Two goals in a minute on 36 and 37 brought United level. Cleverley played in Danny Welbeck for the first and then Welbeck returned the favour for Tom Cleverley to equalise.
Towards the end of the half, Danny Welbeck got in a tangle with a Marseille defender.
At the start of the second half OM took the lead again when Benoit Cheyrou cracked home from the edge of the box just seconds after coming on.
On the hour Marseille scored a quick fire double through Alou Diarra and then Jordan Ayew bagged his second to go 5-2 up.
A poor second half for Manchester United was made worse when Loic Remy notched the sixth goal on 71.
Nine minutes later Loic Remy headed in for 7-2.
And there was still time for Benoit Cheyrou to claim the eighth.
