A Grocrest Security staff attached to the University of Cape Coast branch of the Agriculture Development Bank, has been arrested with a student for stealing GH¢75,077.20 from the bank.
Emmanuel Abrokwa, 28, the security personnel, and David Justice Koufie, 25, student, were said to have broken into the bank and made away with the money.
A third suspect (name withheld) is on the run. Briefing the press at Cape Coast on Monday, the Regional Police Commander, DCOP Stephen Andoh-Kwofie, said the arrest was facilitated by police investigations.
He said the three suspects on April 10 broke into the bank at night and stole the amount.
DCOP Andoh-Kwofie said the police had intensified their hunt for the fleeing suspect.
He said both Abrokwa and Koufie were arrested in their homes in Cape Coast.
DCOP Andoh-Kwofie appealed to the public to co-operate with the police in the fight against crime by providing information that would lead to the arrest of the third suspect.
Both Abrokwa and Koufie admitted the offence when interrogated and said the money was with their fleeing accomplice.
