After 125 years since the inception of Bata in Czech, the world’s leading footwear retailers and manufacturers with operations across 5 continents has opened its retail outlet in Ghana.Addressing the media and costumers at the well-organized official opening of the outlet at Osu, the Managing Director of Padua Collection, the franchise owner, Caroline Ochieng said: “Bata’s strength lies in its worldwide footprint, serving over 1million customers per day, employing over 40,000 people, operating 5,000 retail stories, manages a retail presence in over 50 countries with 33 production facilities across 22 countries. No one in the world knows shoes like we do”.The Managing Director of Bata South Africa, Carlos Garces said, “In Africa, Bata has outlets in Botsowana, Congo (RDC), Kenya, Malawi, Mauritius, South Africa, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwi. It’s against this backdrop that today’s event to open an outlet in Ghana is very significant and delightful. Our plan is to open over 10 stores in Ghana in the next 3 years”.Bata manufacture and sell men’s shoes, women and children as well as athletics.
