Ghanaian boxer Joseph Agbeko’s camp has revealed that the dethroned world champion will return to the ring before December in a rematch with Abner Mares following the weekend controversial defeat to the Mexican.Behind the scenes work for a rematch began on Monday after the IBF confirmed it received an official protest from Agbeko’s camp on Sunday’s disputable majority decision loss to Abner Mares in the Bantamweight unification bout.In an interview with Dennis Mirpuri on the Joy Sports Track, Agbeko’s trainer Adama Addy said, “This fight is not a big deal. He (Marez) is a good boxer but not in our class. Everything happens for a reason, they stole the verdict and now they have made us even more famous than we would have been if we had won the bout.”Agbeko’s legendary promoter, Don King is believed to have already agreed a rematch with Mares’ camp with the date and venue scheduled to be announced soon after the IBF’s work on the protest.
