The newly elected vice-president of the Ghana Football Association, Jordan Anagbla has debunked allegations making rounds that, there deep seated divisions among key members of the Ghana Football Association, describing them as mere fabrications.
The Greater Accra RFA chairman who received the shocking endorsement at the first meeting of the new Executive Committee explained that he is in good talking terms as an individual with all the executive members and noted that, all other members are fine, and are working for the improvement of the Ghana soccer.
Mr. Anagbla was speaking on Asempa FM’s Morning Sports Show, on the supposed serious cracks at the corridors of the executive committee of the FA.
He explained that since he took over from Fred Pappoe- who was widely tipped to retain the post- he cannot point to any indications to give credence to the allegations of division in the FA.
Some fans have described the election which brought new faces into the five-man Ghana Football Association Emergency Committee as a “Palace Coup”.
Since then there have been a lot of allegations to the effect that, some members of the executive committee are working with rage and fury, and are apathetic in their approach to duty, a situation, the new FA Veep denies and says no such thing exists, noting that all the executive committee members are working with a common purpose of developing soccer in Ghana and putting it where it belongs at the world stage.
What has fuelled the seeming disunity among the executive committee members is a hint of sweeping changes which are to be made to the yet-to-be constituted management committees.
Abbey is a sure bet to lose his position as the management head of the Olympic team following the team’s unimpressive outing over the past few years and following his exclusion from the emergency committee of the FA.
It has also been reported that the newly elected vice-president Jordan Anagbla will be given an additional responsibility as chairman of the Black Meteors following his successes with the Under-20 team. These sweeping changes are expected to change the phase of the association with a view to bring result to soccer fans top of the agenda-a position said to be making matters worse and uncomfortable at the corridors of the Executive Committee of the GFA.
On another personal charge brought against him over forcing some contenders in a district level election to step down for his favourite, the Greater Accra RFA Chairman also asked all to treat the charge with the contempt it deserves, because, as he puts it, it lacks merit.
He explained however that, what he did which was not even done in the secret, was in the larger interest of ensuring that experience handlers are put in the helm of the affairs of the district administration, which election is being done today.
