John Jinapor, Spokesperson for Vice President John Mahama has said it is time members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) stood up and defended the presidency regardless of the insults that will be heaped on them.Speaking on Asempa FM’s current affairs programme Ekosii Sen on Tuesday, John Jinapor said “anytime a government official answers questions on policies, they are being described as arrogant”.He asked government officials especially communicators to take the bull by the horn and match the NPP boot for boot on issues concerning government. He stated that government officials are not just being described as arrogant but consistently being asked to resign "for speaking facts about government policies".He asked all to be patient to communicators at the presidency.Justifying his claims, John Jinapor said "I was on Metro TV with Ursula Owusu who said I used drug money to build my mansion; when I called on her to retract and apologise I was described as being arrogant and power-drunk"."If you are in government it is easy for people to accuse you and use insulting language against you for speaking the truth and it is difficult for you to defend yourself," he added.John Jinapor insisted it is time the NDC faced the NPP for them to know that they are not the only people who can talk.He maintained: Even let them say we are arrogant, let people call us any name. Why? Because we are in government we should allow people to insult us? I think we have had enough of these accusations and insults from the opposition and very soon all of us would have to rise and face them. We have to be careful about our opponents because they are taking advantage of us," he served notice. In a related development, Deputy Minister for Tourism, James Agyenim Boateng also added that the only tool to face the opposition NPP is the full fact and nothing else."I mean what the NPP fears is the fact and once you face them with the fact you will defeat them," he emphasized.
