Black Stars midfielder, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu is targeting a regular position in Coach Francesco Guidolin’s Udinese team for the next Italian Serie A season which commences next week.
The 2009 under-20 World Cup winner has made only 13 league appearances for Udinese in his one and half year stay at the club. But Swizz star Gokhan Inler’s move to Napoli creates an opportunity for regular football for the ex Berekum Arsenal and Asante Kotoko player.
The 20-year-old believes he is ready to break into the Udinese starting line-up when the new season begins.
He told Joy Sports' Ridwan Ibrahim Asante, “I have worked hard in the pre-season and I deserve to be in the first eleven. Once you are here, you have to learn so many things, you have to learn the language, you have to learn much about Italian football, you have to settle very well.”
He added, “Now, I think I have learnt a lot, I have settled very well and things have started improving, so this year I will work really hard to enter the first eleven.”
Agyemang Badu and fellow Ghanaian Kwadwo Asamoah made their debuts in the UEFA Champions league last Tuesday against Arsenal in a playoff which ended 1-0 at the Emirates. Udinese is tipped to reverse the score line at the Stadio Friuli next week.
