A member of the Communications Team for New Patriotic Party Daniel Nii Kwatei Titus-Glover has called on the President Prof. John Evans Atta Mills to retract his statement for which he declared to hand over power peacefully in 2017.Titus-Glover explained that as the country prepares for 2012 general elections the statement of the president clearly means how President Mills has planned to stage a coup in the country.President John Evans Atta Mills assured Ghanaians on Thursday of a free and fair elections come December 2012.President Atta Mills who was addressing the 3rd General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EP) in Ho on Thursday said he took over from his predecessor, former President Kufuor, peacefully and will ensure nothing is done to disturb the peace in the country.He however gave a strong indication that he will win the 2012 elections. "I want to assure the people of Ghana that come January 7, 2017, I will hand over a peaceful nation," President Mills assured.But speaking on Asempa Fm’s Current Affairs Show Ekosi Sen on Friday, Titus-Glover said it is dangerous for the sitting President to publically make such a statement which he said is capable of creating chaos and infringe wounds on his opponent.He accused President Mills for shielding his Ministers who go out and disturb peace and stability Ghanaians are enjoying in the country.Titus Glover also accused President Mills for being so desperate to win the 2012 general elections.
