Twenty five Ghanaians who hold bachelor’s degrees from various tertiary institutions will compete to become one of 12 finalists to participate in Season 3 of the Tigo-sponsored Challenge Reality TV Show.
The twenty five comprised twelve females and thirteen males, who evoked their academic excellence, leadership competencies, as well as character and creativity through three auditioning sessions for the educational reality show.
A representative of Tigo on the audition panel, Ama Daaku said the candidates would undergo a series of interviews conducted by a panel, after which twelve finalists will be shortlisted to participate in Season 3 of the Reality TV Show.
She noted that the finalists would receive extensive personal and professional development training and compete against each other in a series of weekly tests, debates, tasks and quizzes in management, leadership, creativity and UK-Ghana trivia.
Ama Daaku said “it was exciting to witness a display of wits, academic brilliance, and confidence, simplicity of expression as well as clarity of thought among the various candidates.”
She however deplored the ill-preparation and lack of competitiveness of some of the candidates who were auditioned.
The Challenge Reality TV Show is a collaboration between The British Council and Tigo Ghana, and would run for fourteen weeks, air on GTV, GH One Entertainment TV and other television stations, and would afford the general public the opportunity to participate as studio audience and also via weekly SMS prize draws and eviction voting.
Two grand prize winners of the Challenge Reality TV Show will win scholarship packages valued in excess of £75,000 to read postgraduate programmes at the University of Westminster, London and Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.
The prize package covers tuition, accommodation, return tickers and a monthly stipend of £400, and the winners may also have the option of a job placement with one of the sponsors.
Other partners in the show include Robert Gordon University, University of Westminster, SIC, IPMC, 3E Quantum, Gsocialize.com, GTV and powered by GH One Entertainment TV.
