National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Anthony Abayifa Karbo has said the NPP will win the 2012 elections in the northern regions hands down.
Mr. Karbo said victory in the three northern regions will change the notion by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) that the NPP is an Akan party.
Speaking on Asempa Fm’s “Ekosii Sen” on Monday, the NPP Youth Organiser said the NPP is the least perturbed by the declaration by President Mills in Ho last week that he will hand over the Presidential seat in 2017.
Karbo who is on a tour of the three northern regions said they consider the President’s statement as a slip of tongue.
He said the tour is aimed at reorganizing the youth wing of the NPP to reunite them, which would enable the party to win elections 2012 hands down in the three Northern Regions.
He refuted claims that the NPP is an Akan party, but rather accused the NDC of labelling the NPP as such.
According to him, the NPP is focused and working very hard towards the 2012 elections to retain the seats it won in the three northern regions and also to win the 2012 elections.
