The second edition of the Multi TV Habitat Fair held at the National Theatre in Accra has ended with sponsors and exhibitors expressing great satisfaction and delight at the outcome of the fair.The 3-day Fair, organised by Multi TV, provided a one-stop shop aimed at providing solutions to problems in the housing sector.With an estimated housing deficit of about one million which is likely to double within a decade if the situation is not addressed, a platform was created to bring together stakeholders in the housing sector to interact with prospective homeowners for pragmatic solutions.The fair brought together over 60 exhibitors and thousands of patrons visiting over the three-day period.According to some of the sponsors and exhibitors at the fair, the fair’s organization and patronage exceeded their expectations. Mrs Stella Kotey, a representative of HFC Bank, said they had the opportunity to provide answers to various nagging questions about mortgage and other home financing options bothering numerous prospective homeowners.Mr Anthony Sarfo, marketing manager of Devtraco Limited said “even though the decision to buy a home takes some time, with various financing options available to the patrons at the fair, they were able to generate a number of leads with some even making commitment to buy their homes at the fair”.Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Habitat Fair in Accra on Sunday, the Sales and Marketing Manager of Multi TV, McBen Adu-Asamoah explained that the fair was born out of the realisation of the “various challenges facing prospective homeowners ranging from financing, land acquisition, building and getting it right from the start.”These concerns, he said, prompted Multi TV to come up with an idea of creating a platform to bring all stakeholders in the housing sector together to interact amongst themselves as well as to provide solutions to the challenges in the sector and “demystify the myth around owning a house.”The Fair, he noted, also “provided opportunities for the various exhibitors and service providers to network and make arrangements to transact business among themselves even beyond the fair.”Mr Abdulai Awudu, Programs Director at Multi TV said in their efforts to provide more exciting programmes for viewers and advertisers, the fair and many more of such specialized fairs will be organized.He also noted that Multi TV is coming up with more and exciting programmes such as the Famous Show, Chocolate Factory and some of the most popular European football leagues.The Multi TV Habitat Fair was organised in partnership with HFC Bank and sponsored by Noble Realty, Interface Limited and Nowak Limited, representatives of Kingspan Izopoli.
