Kumasi Asante Kotoko have debunked rumours that Serbian coach Bogdan Korak has been fired despite claims by Yusif Abubakar he’s close to joining the side as an assistant coach to Maxwell Konadu.Korak, who is on holidays in his native Serbia after supervising the team’s pre-season tour in the Eastern European country, will hold on to his position as head coach and will be assisted by both Maxwell Konadu and Yusif Abubakar.Kotoko has defended the need to hire two assistant trainers.Speaking to JOY Sports Daniel Oduro, the club’s administrative manager, Ben Nti said, “When we went to Sunderland and per their programme there, there were things that we learnt from them. For instance, they have coaches for set pieces, coaches for defence, attack as well as midfield. So as part of the programme, we want to try and fix something in here.”He added that, “We have tried it before. Last season, we had two assistant coaches aside Bogdan Korak (Head Coach). So I don’t see anything wrong with having two assistant coaches.”The 47-year-old’s future has been speculated since losing the MTN FA Cup final to first division side Nania FC.Kotoko claim the move to sign former Hearts of Oak coach Yusif Abubakar is no proof that Bogdan Korak's contract will be terminated.
