Two armed robbers have been jailed 30 years each for robbing a Fan Milk Depot at gun-point.
The Prosecutor in the case Paul Abanga told the Accra Circuit Court 1 presided over by Justice Eric Kyei Bafuor that, on 1st May, 2009 the accused persons Abubakar Mohammed and Kabiru Mohammed at about 5:30 am attacked the Fan Milk depot at Circle where vendors have come to render accounts for the previous day sales.
According to the Prosecutor, the accused persons posed as customers coming to buy some fun milk but pulled a pistol and a long knife, pushing down the sales boy at the depot in the process.
The prosecutor told the court the accused persons searched all the drawers and made away with an undisclosed sum of money as well as a Chinese Mobile Phone valued at GH¢85. He said one of the victims tried to get hold of Abubakar Mohammed but Abubakar shot him in the thigh.
Though the accused bolted the prosecutor said, they were later arrested at Neoplan Station and the Chinese Mobile Phone was retrieved from them alongside 7 pieces of BB cartridges.
Paul Abanga said the accused admitted the offence and the court found them guilty on three counts of conspiracy, robbery & causing harm and subsequently sentenced to 30 years in prison each.
