Daily Guide has established that the Bole District Police Command is investigating a case of alleged death threats against the leadership of a youth group in Bole for accusing Vice President Mahama, an indigene of the area of failing to fulfill his campaign promises to the people.The Bole-Bamboi District Chief Executive, Alhaji Seidu Samson Abudu is among certain government appointees and NDC officials in the area said to have allegedly issued death threats against the youth group who have vowed to hit the streets in Bole on September 5 to register their displeasure over how the Mills-Mahama administration has treated them with disdain.Edward Yakubu Hardi, Assemblyman for the Nyimange Electoral Area in Bole has alleged that on Sunday afternoon, the DCE walked to him and some other colleagues at an open place in Bole "and threatened to kill us spiritually if we do not stop making that noise."Members of the group are leading the Bole community to raise public concerns over the diversion of a proposed teacher training college supposed to have been established in the area, even though the community had raised GH¢45,000 to start the project.The matter has since been reported to the Bolewura, the Bole Chief Imam and the Bole police who are investigating it."I as a person am prepared to die to have the training college established in Bole because I am fighting for my people, and no amount of threats will stop us. The demonstration must come on until we have our school," the assemblyman told Daily Guide on Saturday.Mr. Hardi said they will not relent on their efforts to have the college established in Bole as promised and that as a representative of the people, he will do everything possible to ensure that government gives them a fair deal.Since the group came out to lament the sorry state of Bole, the leadership have allegedly received several death threats, the latest being the one alleged to have been issued by the DCE. The group had earlier alleged that the National Youth Employment Coordinator for the area who is also the NDC Constituency Youth Organiser, Rashid Braimah and the NDC Constituency Organiser, Alhaji Malik, had threatened to terminate their lives.Residents of Bole, hometown of the Vice President, are angry with the current administration over the neglect of the area and unfulfilled promises given them by the government. Residents have threatened to embark on a series of demonstrations beginning September 5 to press home their demand for better treatment and the fulfillment of various juicy campaign promises made to them by the present government in the run-up to the 2008 general elections.Prominent among these promises was the establishment of a teacher training college at Bole, construction of a boys' dormitory at Bole SHS and job creation among others.However, the people of Bole say none of the promises have been fulfilled almost three years into the NDC administration despite the fact that the Vice President hails from the area.The youth say they are prepared to lay down their lives to defend the sighting of the college in their town regardless of the threats on their lives and have accused Mr. Mahama of doing absolutely nothing to ensure the development of his own backyard.
