A New Patriotic Party presidential candidate in the 2008 elections has categorically denied bribing Pollster Ben Ephson to conduct an opinion poll in his favour.Arthur Kennedy is one of four candidates mentioned by the NPP’s Youth Organiser, Anthony Karbo as offering monies to the pollster to conduct the opinion polls but Kennedy is unimpressed and has issued a disclaimer. He told Joy News’ Bernard Saibu “I will bear no false evidence” for anybody.Ben Ephson had confirmed a wikileaks report which suggested he had told an American diplomat that a confidante to the NPP flag bearer and the Executive Director of the Danquah Institute Gabby Asare Otchere Darko had attempted to bribe him with $20,000 to conduct a poll that will favour Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2008 general elections run-off.Ben Ephson noted he was forced to confirm the report after his credibility was attacked by the NPP Youth Organiser who was discussing the fallouts of the leaks. But Karbo has shown no sign of pulling back on his allegation, insisting, the Pollster collected monies from several sources including Arthur Kennedy before conducting his polls. He accused Ben Ephson of being a hypocrite, a man who collected bribes from NPP gurus for his polls and turned around to play the innocent and principled person.Ben Ephson who is also the Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Dispatch has since refused to comment on the matter. He would rather the persons on whose behalf the allegations have been leveled by Karbo step forward and make the allegations on their own accord.Ephson’s silence, for the time being, appears to be golden with Arthur Kennedy denying ever paying monies for any polls.“On my honour I have not given Ben Ephson any money to conduct any poll on my behalf,” he said, "neither has Ephson approached me for any money," Kennedy added. He described as an “unprincipled attempt” by Karbo to destroy his relationship with Ephson. But Anthony Karbo insists he stands by his allegations that candidates of the NPP flagbearership race in 2008 bribed Ben Ephson.
