The Executives of the ruling National Democratic Congress will be convening an emergency meeting to resolve recent impasse between regional youth organizers of the party and their national youth organiser Ludwig Hlordze. The forum for deputy youth organizers are unhappy with the performance of their leader. They claim his position as the presidential aide has given him more responsibility than he could handle, and with little attention to the party youth. The forum is therefore asking president John Mills to relieve Hlordze of his presidential duties. The spokesperson for the group Prince Iddrisu Mahmoud told Joy News their decision is backed by all the regional youth and deputy youth organizers nationwide.Even though he conceded that Hlordze, once in a while, organises seminars for the party’s youth, those, he noted are at the national level with the grassroots mostly being ignored. He said organizing the grassroots and the masses of the party must remain the NDC’s greatest task, and the youth organiser, whose responsibility it is, is failing miserably on that.Ludwig Hlordze will not publicly react to the allegations except to say his critics must make use of the party’s structures to address their grievances. But the National Organiser of the party, Yaw Boateng Gyan told Joy News the executives are unimpressed with the public criticism of the youth organiser. He is not convinced the action by the deputy youth organizers was approved by the substantive regional organizers. He said whilst the critics may have a legitimate concern, the channel they have chosen to explore is unacceptable.Boateng Gyan said the deputy youth organizers ought to have petitioned the national hierarchy for a peaceful resolution of the problem rather than going public with it.He said he and the party’s General Secretary will soon be calling on the aggrieved members for a resolution of the problem.Meanwhile, Prince Iddrisu Mahmoud said they are ready to meet the national executives when they (executives) deem it appropriate.
