The Minister of Information, John Akologu Tia, has reacted angrily to his predecessor's suggestion that there was chaos at the ministry. In an interview on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show Tuesday, a former Information Minister, Stephen Asamoah Boateng criticised government’s information management under the Mills administration, describing it as chaotic and lacking coordination. Affectionately called Asa B, the former Mfantseman West MP regretted that the ministry had been reduced to a propaganda outfit. But the incumbent minister would have none of these. Mr John Tia told Joy News the comments form part of orchestrated attempts by the opposition to divert the attention of the government from its core duties. But was confident their ploys will fall through. He stated that not only were the accusations unjustifiable, but calculated creating the chaos Mr Asa B and others wanted to see. “I am aware that one of the strategies of the opposition NPP is to ensure that they detract us from doing our work. Not just the Ministry of Information but as government. “So it is one of their communication ploys to make these kinds of outrageous statements without any basis.”
