President Mills will Friday afternoon address the 66th UN General Assembly in New York. His address will be live (audio) on Aesmpa FM, Adom FM and www.myjoyonline.com and Multi TV.
His address is expected to dwell on Ghana's unalloyed commitment to the UN's reform agenda, particularly those against corruption and accountability.
President Mills will also touch on Ghana's support for peace missions abroad and its commitment to continue to commit troops to maintain peace in all parts of the world.
Illicit proliferation of small arms and light weapons, Ghana's commitment to gender equality and empowerment of women, infrastructural development efforts of the government, the country's gas and oil find, education and rule of law will also feature prominently in the President's speech.
Other highlights of the address will include efforts by the government to ensure free, fair and transparent elections in 2012.
On the international front, the President will use the opportunity to welcome into the United Nations family, South Sudan, which attained independence a couple of months ago.
