New WBO Africa Super Featherweight champion Osumanu Akaba says his aim now is to become a world champion.
The Ghanaian boxer clinched the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Africa Super featherweight title from Beninois Theodore Lokossou at the Lebanon House, Tudu in Accra.
Lokossou could not progress after the seventh round as Akaba cruised to a Technical Knockout (TKO) victory on the main bout of the promotion dubbed: “Only the strong" put together by Heart of Lions Boxing Promotions.
According to him, it now is time to rise in the ranks of world boxing to clinch a world title.
“My dream is to become world champion at WBO and I’m optimistic it will come very soon”.Akaba told JOY Sports.
