Ghana premier Accra Hearts of Oak has confirmed a club friendly match with Rangers International of Enugu from Nigeria as part of their centenary celebration.
After months of searching for a suitable opponent for the anniversary match, Hearts settled on the six time Nigerian champions who have an enviable record along with Heartland F C as the only clubs that have never been relegated from the Nigerian league.
Board member of Hearts, Commodore Mensah in an interview with JOY Sports confirmed the friendly match which will be played 13th September 2011 at the Accra sports stadium.
“We will play a centenary match in the afternoon against Enugu Rangers”. Commodore told joy sports.
He called on the phobia family to participate in this memorable event to make it a success.
The Phobians will officially open their centenary anniversary celebrations this Saturday with a blood donation exercise at ATTC in Kokomlemle in Accra. There is also a planned symbolic planting of oak seedlings at selected areas in Accra.
