Referees Appointment Committee Chairman, Mr. Osei Tutu Agyemang believes sanctions meted out to some offending referees will reform them.In an exclusive interview on Asempa fm’s afternoon program Fire-for-Fire, he said although the number of referees who were sanctioned was on higher side, he believes if the objective behind it is good then we will see the fruits as the league progresses.According to him, there is the need for some level of streamlining in the league so that we can get to an appreciable level. The Referees Appointment Committee Chairman debunked the notion that, most of the referee appointments are based on parochial interests. He explained that the Committee only work with the list that the Referee Association of Ghana gives them so if something goes wrong with officiating it will be very bad for the public to blame them.He therefore called on all stakeholders to ensure that officiating is developed in the league. He added that in the next two to three months the nation will reap the positive results.
