Former world boxing champion Ike “Bazooka Quartey” says he wants to aid in the rebuilding process at the amateur ranks of boxing as an administrator.
According to hi, there is lot of work to be done at the amateur ranks especially in the Greater Accra Region which has most of the nation’s boxing talents.He told JOY Sports on Tuesday that, he is ready to take up an appointment in the region to help Mr Ray Quarcoo who is the chairman of the amateur boxing association rebuild the foundations of boxing in the country.
“If I will do boxing then it will be the amateur because I want to help the young one who has the talents to also get to where some of us reached”. Quartey told JOY Sports.Ike has participated in several Olympic Games and All Africa Games, the world championships and the Commonwealth Games.
