Barcelona vice-captain Xavi has criticised Zlatan Ibrahimovic for comments made concerning Pep Guardiola, according to Marca.
The Swede spent only one season at Barcelona before being moved on to AC Milan and stated that Guardiola was 'a coward' in his upcoming book.
Xavi has now taken time to castigate his former colleague for the remarks, saying: "It disappointed me very much and I was surprised at the same time."
The Ballon d'Or nominee also spoke of the form of arch-rivals Real Madrid, saying that their brand of direct football is paying dividends.
"Madrid have a very high level. With very direct football and doing very well on the counter-attack. Yes, they're at a good level."
Xavi will link up with a number of Real Madrid players for Spain's upcoming friendly matches against England and Costa Rica.
