A newly-formed Second Division football club christened Central Rovers was at the week-end inaugurated at Cape Coast by Mr. Matthew Doe, the Central Regional Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).Mr. Doe commended the Directors of the Club for their initiative to form the Club to help promote soccer and utilise the potential of the youth in the Cape Coast Municipality.He however said the success of the Club would depend on discipline and hard training and advised the playing body and the executives to comport themselves during football matches.Mr. Doe regretted that the Municipality lacked playing fields and appealed to the Cape Coast Municipal Assembly to assist in putting up playing fields in the various suburbs.The Regional Chairman advised the team to learn the rules of the game to educate their followers and to refrain from influencing referees who handle their matches.Alhaji Ibrahim is the Chairman, Mr Bature Ibrahim, the Vice Chairman, Mustapha Idris, Secretary, Abass Maama, Treasurer and Rashid Iddi, team manager.Source: GNA
