The Savana Accelerated Development Authority is now set to fully roll out its business plan following an overwhelming endorsement by development partners at a donor conference held on Monday November 21, 2011. The conference was to explain priority areas over the next five years, government’s financial commitment and expected input from other stakeholders. It was attended by the African Development Bank, EU, DfID, USAID and local interest groups. Among them was the Northern Youth for Peace and Development which has been very critical of government for delaying implementation. But the group’s Executive Secretary, Prince Hardy Adams says he is now impressed. "You could see SADA has a long term future," he told Joy News. SADA Chief Executive, Alhaji Gilbert Iddi expresed optimistism a coordinated plan will fast track the initiative to develop the northern savanna belt. "The way forward is that our business plan...the donors have all agreed to buy into it. So we'll continue to roll out activities on the basis of what we have planned in our business plan," Mr Iddi said. SADA was established to spearhead the development of the north.
