Armed men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen have attacked and robbed the District Chief Executive for Garu-Tempane in the Upper East Region and passengers on a Yutong bus on the Bolga-Bawku road. They took away money and mobile phones at gun-point. The DCE, David Adakudugu who narrated his ordeal to Radio A1 in Bolga, said the robbers succeeded in robbing about seven cars. He said he sensed danger when he saw two buses with all their passengers seated by the road side, and immediately asked his driver to stop from a distance. “Just as we were stopping we realised that they are armed robbers and pointed their weapons on the driver and shouted ligrili meaning we should bring money. They were three armed robbers; one was wielding an AK 47, the other two were holding pistols,” Mr Adakudugu recounted. He said the robbers exchange gun shots with the police who had come to their rescue. The robbers vanished took to their heels. Regional Police Commander, ACP Bright Oduro confirmed the robbery incident to Joy News but declined providing further details.
