Former Upper East Regional Minister, Boniface Gambilla has been released from the custody of the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).
He was picked up yesterday by the BNI to answer allegations of theft. National Youth Organiser Anthony Karbo confirmed Mr. Gambilla’s release to Joy News.
Information Joy News has picked up suggests that the BNI’s action is based on recommendations from a 2003 audit report that revealed alleged mishandling of expenditure to the tune of 470,000 cedis.
This was cash for the purchase of bicycles, mattresses, lanterns and food items for service personnel which remain unaccounted for.
