Charles Kofi Wayo has described the MP for Assin north in the Central Region Kennedy Agyapong “as mentally incorrect”.
Kofi Wayo said “it is an open secret that the legislator is suffering from mental instability based on his utterances”.
Kofi Wayo maintained that Kennedy Agyapong’s continuous outburst in public make people think Parliament is a joke and advised the MP to be polite with his utterances.
Kofi Wayo said this in an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Monday in reaction to allegations leveled against him by the MP.
Kennedy Agyapong on 25th November 2011 accused Kofi Wayo for defrauding some people over Visa fraud and begged a Journalist who was handling the case not to publish the story with the intent of bribing him with laptop.
The MP also accused Kofi Wayo as a greedy person who wanted to secure contract at Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) for supply during the NPP regime, but because former President Kufuor refused to grant him that, he started castigating the NPP and eventually left the party.
Reacting to these allegations, Kofi Wayo described as false, the claim that he had been involved in Visa fraud or lobbying for contract at TOR.
Kofi Wayo however advised Kennedy Agyapong to have the interest of his constituents at heart and provide them with basic social amenities like potable water and good health facility.
He assessed that Kennedy Agyapong boast of being wealthy yet people in the Assin north constituency still live in mud houses with no employment.
‘Go and see his hometown Assin Fosu, there is no employment, go and see the market how messed up it is, go and see people still live in mud houses. As an MP he should fight for industries to be brought there to give employment to his people’, Kofi Wayo said.
He maintained that if the MP is well to do as he professes; he should help his people because they are suffering.
