I guess many of you know some of the many challenges one faces when living in the deep forests of Ghana as I do now. More often than not it is very difficult to be reached and even you to reach out. From under my Raybow tree in Ankwaso where the Ankobra River begins its tortuous and meandering journey to Axim, I reach out to PLAVI the privileged coach of the Black Stars of Africa. Champions Ghana must be at CAN 2012. This is the message simple and clear from us.
I have read and heard also of various comments on what the Black Stars of Africa must achieve at the CAN 2012. Yes, C K Akunnor a former captain of the Black Stars has spoken on it and the famous and legendary Samuel Osei Kuffour in preparing for his testimonial match suggests that nobody should put undue pressure on the Black Stars. Sorry Legend but I differ.
We shall accept nothing but the coveted trophy from Equatorial Guinea with CAF cash neatly stuffed in it.
The Ankwaso soccer fans, Ankwaso Black Stars Supporters Union(ABSU) and I join forces to remind the most privileged coach on the entire African continent PLAVI that we must to be champions NOW, and we mean by the end of January 2012 the African Cup of Nations should be humming alongside Prof John Evans Atta Mills in the Castle Osu.
Ahead of this 15th December 2011 press meeting to announce his squad for the CAN 2012, I want Plavi to revise his notes to include “if I do not bring the cup I fire myself.”
My brethren, this is the best era of the modern Black Stars of Africa with so many talents to choose from. Silver Medal at the CAN 2010, quarter-finalists at the 2010 World Cup, Nigeria, Egypt and Cameroon all out of CAN 2012 and many more facts that imply it is time to be champions in 2012.
It is time to be champions NOW. We the fans will be monitoring PLAVI from Ankwaso. In fact we shall be sending a representative to Plavi's press meet and follow him to Gabon and Equatorial Guinea. Ghana has the soccer skills, talents, sponsorship, government support, and the leadership to be champions now, so we must PLAVI.
