Mr. Samuel Ayim-Ankomah, Tema Metro Co-ordinator of the Ghana National Service Scheme (GNSS), says his outfit will intensify the monitoring of National Service Personnel posted to the Metropolis. According to the Coordinator, information gathered on recent monitoring in the Metropolis revealed gross disrespect, lukewarm attitude towards work and incessant complaints about the conducts and attitudes exhibited by some of the Personnel. The monitoring, according to Mr. Samuel Ayim-Ankomah, will be done through the filling of nomination forms by Service Personnel as well as arrange interviews with managers or supervisors in the various institutions. The managers will be required to answer some questions on the conducts and performance of Personnel in their presence. Mr. Ayim-Ankomah disclosed this at the first General Meeting of National Service Personnel (NSP) for the 2011/2012 service year in Tema. The meeting was also scheduled to orient and afford the over two thousand Service Personnel the opportunity to elect their Metro executives. He advised personnel to put a stop to those unruly behaviours, be respectful and discharge their duties to the best of their ability to make good impacts in their institutions and community. He also advised them to eschew social vices such as drug and alcoholism. Mr. Ayim-Ankomah said the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) in the metropolis will embark on community service programmes which will include road safety campaign, clean up exercise in and around Tema, continue with the Tree planting exercise and work on Agriculture projects at the Dawhenya and the Nungua farms as well as the Adjei Kojo poultry projects.
