A sixty-year-old farmer who gunned down his son for stealing dried coconut on his plantation has been charged with murder.
John Oppong Andoh, shot Kwesi Abrochie, in the chest at close range, killing him on the spot.
He voluntarily reported himself to the Police after the incident at Samenye near Mpataba in the Jomoro District of the Western region.
He told the police his son was responsible for rampant stealing from his plantation and had ignored repeated warnings to stop.
Jomoro District Commander, DSP John Ferguson Dzikenu told Joy News the suspect who used a single-barreled gun to commit the act will be arraigned before court on Tuesday.
