A doctor Gameli of the Elite Dental Hospital, Abelemkpe, has urged all Ghanaians to take three meals daily, with an interval of four hours and at least eat a fruit after each meal to ensure effective digestion.
He said these during an interview on Joy FM’s Ultimate heath programme, Tuesday.
According to him, improper eating habit can lead to loss of weight and deficiency in the six nutrients that the body needs to stay healthy.
He therefore advised people to eat fruits like oranges or apples at least once a day.
After each meal, Dr. Gameli said, it is essential to exercise the body for not less than 30 minutes before retiring to bed.
He said the exercise will make the heart beat faster, enhancing its performance.
On dentition, the doctor said sugary foods like soft drinks and other concentrated sugar and carbon content paves way for teeth eating bacteria to attack the teeth and destroy them.
He, therefore, advised people to brush their teeth twice daily.
Dr. Gameli said there is the need for people to visit the dental hospital once in a while, adding that people with tooth ache must visit a dentist for a proper diagnosis and intensive treatment to avoid future occurrences.
