Community health nurses have called off their indefinite strike to press home their demand for better pay and recognition by the Ghana Registered Nurses Association, GRNA.
The Community Health Nurses were also demanding career progression and proper job description.
They accuse the Registered Nurses Association of sidelining them in salary negotiations for placement on the Single Spine Salary Structure.
But that was condemned by the association which said the group had no case.
President of the group, Esther Frimpomaa Bamfo told Joy News the GRNA now recognizes their importance and is ready to negotiate with them.
According to her, the strike has made the necessary impact following the numerous calls on them by the sector minister as well as the registered nurses for them to call off the strike.
She said they have given them the benefit of the doubt and have suspended their threat to break away from the mother union.
